Having spent the past 10 years ministering God’s love in
Sagamok, their church, now called The Remnant Call, has
recently re-located to Espanola, a more central location for its
members who reside in Sudbury, Espanola, Massey and
Manitoulin Island.
Monika and Dave (who serves as Associate Pastor) extend an
invitation to all residents of Espanola and area to visit and
fellowship with them at The Remnant Call services currently
being held on Sunday mornings at the Elks hall in Espanola.
Dave and his wife Monika have lived in Espanola for the past
40 years. They raised their four children here, and have been
blessed with four grandchildren.
Born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, an opportunity for Dave
to teach at the high school in Espanola resulted in a 26-year
math teaching career. Dave enjoyed teaching, coaching golf
and soccer teams while Monika worked in the medical field.
Monika and Dave have loved living here, making Espanola
their home, enjoying a community that is friendly, quiet, and
very welcoming. Their past-times have included enjoying their
summers on Manitoulin Island at their trailer, and adventures
on their cruiser on the North Shore. Dave’s passion for
snowmobiling and ice-fishing over the years is always an
exciting winter activity.
Dave has spent many years in church leadership, teaching
God’s Word in small-group settings, sharing the love of Christ.
Retired from teaching at the high school 13 years ago, he was
ordained as a licensed minister of the Gospel, seven years ago.
He has had the privilege of giving pre-marital sessions and
performing the marriage ceremonies for several former
students.
Monika and Dave place high value on family, attested by their
many family get-togethers sharing meals, fun and fellowship at
their 100-year old home on Barber Street.
